About us..

What's so special about us?

We are independent Gorilla Safari specialists providing a selection of scheduled and tailored trips to the National Parks of Uganda and Rwanda – two of East Africa’s most spectacularly scenic countries. A visit to this part of the world provides a unique opportunity for a privileged few to spend priceless time with Africa’s Great Apes.

We work with only a small collection of the very best camps and lodges which we have visited in Rwanda and Uganda so our recommendations are first hand.

Our Gorilla Safaris are led by highly experienced guides and backed up by a professional team who will ensure your time in Africa is an exceptional and unforgettable experience.

Scheduled trips

Our scheduled gorilla safari departures range from 3 to 12 days and include either Rwanda or Uganda or a combination of both. Staying in high quality accommodation throughout, numbers are restricted to a maximum of only five clients per departure, allowing for a more personal trip.

One of our most popular short trips is the 4 day safari to the Parc Nationale des Volcan (PNV) in Rwanda. This trip starts and finishes in Kigali and includes three nights at the fabulous Virunga Lodge which has the most spectacular views over lakes Ruhondo and Bulera with the Virunga Mountains in the background.

Longer trips include our 12 day Rwanda and Uganda combination, taking clients to both the PNV in Rwanda as well as the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. During this incredible journey through the western Rift Valley guests will also visit the Kazinga Channel and Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Tailored trips

Our individually tailored trips are designed around each individual and afford a great deal of flexibility in terms of the locations and duration of each safari. Guest will have a private guide and safari vehicle throughout the safari but will join a small group of eight for the gorilla trekking in accordance with National Park regulations.

With clients wanting a more active safari we recommend a trip to Uganda’s Lake Mburo for some canoeing, a full day white-water rafting on the Nile or a visit to the Chimp Sanctuary on Ngamba Island.

Wildlife is prolific throughout Uganda and the diverse habitats of the Queen Elizabeth National Park supports large numbers of animals including lion, elephant, buffalo, hippo and leopard as well as many different species of antelope. With an incredible bird count of over 1,000 different species in Uganda alone, the western Rift Valley is a bird watchers paradise.
